Meeting a friend by the bandstand of Castle Park, then to the Arnolfini, after having had a 99. The Arnolfini’s current exhibition is ‘Art from Elsewhere‘: a vague curatorial choice allows for a show which exhibits international artists, whose interests are, interestingly, as divergent as their backgrounds. Meschac Gaba sits next to Carl Andre. A video installation from Emily Jacir is a highlight. A half pint of Southville Hop at No 1 Harbourside chased by lasagne from Pinkmans, eaten at the top of Brandon Hill Park. Then I headed down to Spike Island for Michael Beutler’s excellent installation; immersive and exciting. A Hart’s Bakery sausage roll split over beers at the pub.
